Game Fun

Game

First of all what is a game? , I have already said this in a previous blog but they say that people pay games because they experience emotions that are closely related to a main factor of happiness.

8 Kinds of Fun

With games they can be described by the 3 components I have previous mentioned in my blogs before which are Mechanics, Dynamics and Aesthetics (MDA) or what it is also stated as rules - systems - "Fun". The MDA gives the "8 kinds of fun" and these are as follow: <

Well both the Oxford and Merrian dictionaries define Fun as an enjoyment or delight but of the game context it is referred to a dorm of pleasurable entertainment for the person. There are essentially four types of Fun that define how fun the game is to different players.

These are:

  • Easy Fun: For players who are new to playing the game and want to test their curiosity.
  • Hard Fun: For people who like good challenges in games.
  • People Fun: For those who get their amusement from competitions and cooperation in games.
  • Serious Fun: For people get excited over changing the player and it's world in games.

Our brains are wired to find learning fun. Because every time we find something interesting in a topic of subject our brains get a shot of dopamine and what is dopamine you ask. Well it is a chemical messenger that helps transmit signals to the brain it also effects movement, emotions, and experience of pain and pleasure. Anyways these feelings will make us want to keep learning, exploring and pushing ourselves to find more.
