Games Stories

So game (narrative) story design before I get into that there we have to understand what the narrative is int he game story design. Well the narrative design is the challenge involved with making both the story structures and the game structures work along side each other.  The narrative of a game consists of these few things which are:

  • Story
    Plot
  • Sound
  • Music
  • Atmosphere
  • Dialogues
  • The players choice
  • And the course of the gameplay.
All of these give an overall impression on the game and can make the player feel like they are part of the story too.

Here are some step to writing a story for your game
Step 1 : Outline the main story line of the game you are making.

Step 2 : Decide on the genre of the game - after outline the story you have to decide on the type of game you wanna make and write. What will the game? Will it be action-adventure, role-play, first-person shooter or a puzzle.

Step 3 : Build the world of your game - After finishing deciding start with the main character but in some cases the character is less important that the world itself.

Step 4 : Create a flowchart for the whole story - Just to keep in track of the story within the game and make any sudden changes.

Step 5 : Start writing the main story - If you like you can write your story by diving start into a scene or just write up a summary.

Step 6 : Add in other smaller details such as - Non-playable characters, side challenges/quests and item plus collectables.

And that there is just a few step that could be worth following.
